Personality: Charles is a man dedicated to world peace, tolerance and understanding. He is not innocent or naive, he has seen many troublesome things and made many difficult decisions in his time. Charles is devoted fully to the Haven, to protecting those who have entrusted themselves to his care.
Powers: Xavier is potentially the most powerful telepath in the world. His powers are not completely controlled nor explored, but with the aid of Cerebro, he is able to connect to the minds of others in order to manipulate, erase and create memories, as well as control the actions of people. Xavier is also capable of projecting himself onto the astral plane and control himself and his surroundings there.
History: Charles Xavier was the son of a nuclear researcher, born into great wealth and luxury. His father passed away when he was young and his mother remarried, but the marriage was ill fated. His step father and step brother were both abusive, and Charles escaped his troubled home life by burying himself in his studies. A gifted mind, Charles was enrolled in college at the age of sixteen, which allowed him to escape the abuses of his step family. Just before his graduation, his mother had turned to alcoholism and drank herself to death while he was away, but she had been wise enough to will the vast majority of her money to her son. Charles cut ties with his step family and gave up his education.

Charles became a humanitarian, traveling and offering aid to those in need. In his travels he met a fellow idealist by the name of Erik Lehnsherr, and the two became fast friends. When full-scale fighting broke out in Azerbaijan, Charles and Erik traveled to volunteer their abilities to help the victims, it was an ill-fated trip for Charles. A stray bullet struck his spine and left him paralyzed from the waist down. With the aid of Erik, he returned to the States, but despite the best medical attention, he was never to regain the use of his legs.

December 2012 brought an entirely new world to Xavier, he suddenly found himself in possession of the ability to read minds. The first few weeks after the solar flare were clouded by migraines and immense pain as his body attempted to deal with the new abilities of his mind. As the pain subsided, Charles found himself deeply concerned about the state of the world, the mass hysteria, the crippling fear and the utter lack of knowledge about this strange turn of events was as worrisome as it was overwhelming. Upon learning that his old friend Erik Lehnsherr had found himself in control of outstanding powers as well, he invited him to the relative seclusion and safety of the Xavier Manor so that they may, together, attempt to gain a better understanding of this new world.

Days turned to weeks and the panic and fear continued to escalate in the world around them. More and more Charles became aware of those with powers in grave danger and did his best to bring them into his home as well. It quickly became clear that the situation was going to become much worse before it would become better, Xavier and Lehnsherr came to a decision: Together they would convert Xavier Manor into a haven for mutants, together they would train them and teach them to control their abilities, together they would protect them and create peace in this new world. Months after the solar flare, the Charles Xavier Haven for Gifted Individuals opened its doors as a home and training facility for all those gifted with powers.
